The plastic surgeon is making an incision at the edge of the areola.
With his finger the surgeon is making the pocket for the implant under the muscle.
There are two ways to place the implant. You can place it above the muscle or below the muscle. Generally, with women who have very little breast tissue it’s better to put it under the muscle. That way the muscle makes a buffer, gives it a softer appearance. You don’t have that very shelfy look on top. And also the muscle makes sort of massage and it lessens the breast tissue getting harder.

Here is a breast implant filled with silicone gel, unlike saline solution which is filled into the implant during the operation and is adapted to the breast size, the silicone gel implant comes already filled, ready and has no valve. The problem now is to insert the implant through the short areolar incision.

Using an instrument the surgeon gently pushes the implant into the breast.

Now the surgery is over. The patient is feeling a little bit tight now, but over six weeks it’s going to relax and the implants will drop a little bit and look more natural.
